The connectors
A connector is the small piece of software you install on your own website so that Content Uploader can publish to it. Both are released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later).
- Content Uploader Connector for Joomla. The
pkg_cuconnectpackage, with thecom_cuconnectcomponent and theplg_webservices_cuconnectplugin, for Joomla 5 and 6. Copyright © 2026 Peter Ader, trading as Freaked-Out I.S.. Every version can be downloaded from the Joomla connector page. The package contains the licence text inLICENSE.txt, and every PHP file starts with a licence notice. - The WordPress plugin. It carries the same licence in its plugin header and in the
LICENSEfile it ships with.
What the licence lets you do
The GPL gives everyone who receives a connector these rights, with no fee and no licence key:
- To run it, for any purpose.
- To study how it works and change it to suit you.
- To share copies of it.
- To share your changed versions, under the same licence and with their source.
The licence’s own disclaimer of warranty applies to the connectors. Nothing here limits the rights the GPL gives you.
Source code
The connectors are written in PHP, and what you download is their source: plain files you can read, with no build step. Nothing in them is minified, encoded or obfuscated, and neither connector includes third-party code or libraries.
What isn’t open source
The Content Uploader website, the app, our servers and the way they read and process your files are not open-source software, and the connectors’ licence doesn’t cover them. You use the service under our Terms of Service and Privacy policy. It has a Free plan and paid plans.
A connector can’t publish anything until you sign in to Content Uploader and approve the connection from your site, and installing one shares nothing with us. The terms say what connectors are and how they’re kept up to date.
Name and logo
The Content Uploader name and logo belong to us and aren’t licensed by the GPL, as the terms say.
