FAQ
Short answers about platforms, data, billing, connectors, importing and updating content.
Plans and billing
- What counts as a record write?A record write is one item successfully created or updated on a site. What is free: checking, previews, unchanged and skipped items, errors, failed attempts and retries.
- Can I get a refund?Fees are non-refundable, with two main exceptions: a private person may withdraw within 14 days for a full refund, and some term changes allow prepaid fees back.

Publishing
- Can I undo a publish? There is no undo button, but an update can be reversed by uploading a file with the previous values, and your CMS keeps revisions or versions where they are switched on.
- Will I get duplicate posts? No, as long as each row keeps its record ID: a known ID is always an update, and retries and repeated files never create a second copy. A few situations can still create one.
- Does Content Uploader ever delete anything on my site? No. Publishing creates and updates items, and never deletes posts, articles, files or categories. Items missing from a file are left exactly as they are.
Spreadsheets
- Do I need a record ID column? Not strictly: without one, rows are matched by slug or title. But an ID column that never changes is the safe way to update the same items week after week.
- Can I update posts I created by hand? Not directly for posts: Content Uploader only recognises items it published itself. WooCommerce products are the exception: they are found by their SKU.
Plans and billing
Account
- Can two people work in one workspace?Yes. An owner invites people by email and chooses which sites each can use. Team members work on those sites; connecting sites, billing and invitations stay with owners.
- Can I delete my account?Yes, from Settings, at any time. A workspace only you belong to is deleted with it and kept for 30 days; what you published to your sites stays.
Spreadsheets
- Which spreadsheet programs and file types work?Excel (.xlsx, .xlsm, .xls), LibreOffice and OpenOffice (.ods), Google Sheets downloads, and CSV, TSV or text files in UTF-8. A ZIP of images can go with the file.
- Can I import straight from Google Sheets or a web address? No. Content Uploader reads files you upload; download your Google Sheet as .xlsx or CSV first. Images, however, can be given as web addresses in the spreadsheet.

Publishing
- Why does the first file always wait for my review? The first file of a configuration, and the first after a change to it, the site or the columns, always waits for your confirmation, even with automatic publishing on.
- What happens if I upload the same file twice? The second upload finds every row unchanged, says everything is up to date and publishes nothing, so nothing is duplicated and no allowance is used.
Configurations
Plans and billing
- What happens when my allowance runs out?Nothing is lost. Checking and reviewing stay free; publishing offers the first changes that fit, an upgrade, or waiting for the reset date, and what was published stays.
- Can I cancel at any time?Yes. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you paid for; you keep the plan until then, and nothing is deleted when the workspace returns to the Free plan.
- Is there a free plan?Yes. The Free plan needs no card and has no time limit: the whole importer, with a small allowance and one site, to try on real files.
- Is a Free workspace deleted if I do not use it?Yes, after 12 months without a sign-in or an upload, and only after two emails. One click on Keep my workspace stops it, and a paid plan is never deleted for this.
- Can a private person (a consumer) use Content Uploader?Yes. Content Uploader is for businesses and private persons. A consumer keeps every legal right and can withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days for a full refund.
Privacy and data
- Who can see my files and my content?Only the people in your workspace, and a team member only what belongs to the sites an owner gave them. Uploaded files are kept in private storage, separated by workspace.
- How long are my uploaded files kept?Original files and ZIPs are deleted automatically 30 days after upload; the rows and the run history are kept 12 months; what was last published to each item stays.
WordPress and Joomla
- Which content types can I publish to?Posts, pages and products on WordPress, including custom post types the plugin can reach, and articles on Joomla. The Sites page lists exactly what your site offers.
- Does Content Uploader work with WooCommerce?Yes. Create and update your WooCommerce products and their variations from a spreadsheet, and see every price and stock change before anything goes live.
Configurations
WordPress and Joomla
- What if I change a price or a quantity on my shop between two files?By default the next file is compared with what the shop holds, so a price changed by hand is shown in the review and put back. You can choose the file's own history instead.
- Will publishing slow down my website?Hardly: items are sent one at a time for each site, and each one is an ordinary save through your CMS. A very large file simply takes longer.
- Does it work on a local, private or password-protected site? No. Content Uploader must reach your site over the internet through a public HTTPS address, without a password and without redirects. Use a public staging copy instead.
Fields
General
- Is Content Uploader available in other languages? Not yet. The app, the documentation and support are in English; your content can be in any language, because files are read as UTF-8.
- Can I use Content Uploader on a phone or tablet?Yes, for reading a review, publishing and checking results: on a small screen the menu folds behind a button and the pages use one column. Setting up is easier on a computer.
