Words used in the app and in this documentation, in alphabetical order. Each has a one-line meaning and, where useful, the guide to read next.
A#
Access key. The secret that lets Content Uploader act on one of your sites. It lasts 90 days and can be renewed or revoked (security).
Active site. One of the sites your plan allows to publish. Others are paused (paused sites).
Allowance. What your plan lets you do in a monthly cycle: record writes and image transfer (plans).
Approval. Pressing Publish (or, with automatic publishing, the product doing so) on a reviewed file. Nothing reaches your site before it.
Attention reason. A situation that asks you to confirm before publishing: the first file of a configuration version, a changed destination, changed columns (attention reasons).
C#
Category. A group items belong to; hierarchical. On Joomla every article needs exactly one (categories).
Check (checking). Turning each row into content, validating it and comparing it with what was published and with your site. It never writes to your site.
Configuration. A saved setup for one kind of file: the destination site and content type, the record ID and the mapping. You drop each week's file on it (create a configuration).
Connector. The plugin (WordPress) or extension (Joomla) on your site that receives Content Uploader's requests and saves content through the CMS (compatibility).
Content type. The kind of item a configuration publishes: posts, pages, a custom post type, articles.
Custom field. An extra value an item stores: WordPress post meta, or a Joomla custom field (custom fields).
D#
Destination. The site and content type a configuration publishes to.
M#
Mapping. The decisions about which column feeds which field, with what mode (how mapping works).
O#
Operation ID. A unique number sent with each item so that repeating the request never creates a second item (retrying safely).
P#
Price check. The limit, set in a configuration under Large price changes, beyond which a price that moves asks for your confirmation (review product changes).
Preview. The editor panel that shows how any sample row would turn into content, without sending anything.
Publication result. The latest outcome of writing one item to one site, listed on the Sites page (results).
R#
Record ID. The value in a column that identifies one item for ever, so that a later file updates it instead of creating it again (record ID).
Record write. One item successfully created or updated on a site. The unit of your allowance (what counts).
Review. The page that shows what a file will change: new, updated, unchanged, errors and skipped, before anything is published (the review).
Run (an upload). One file's journey: read, checked, reviewed, published. Listed under Uploads.
S#
SKU. A shop's own code for a product, unique on the shop. It is how products the shop already has are found (update products already on your shop).
Skipped. An item left alone because writing it now would be wrong, for example it is in the trash (skipped items).
Slug / alias. The address-friendly name of an item (WordPress: slug; Joomla: alias).
T#
Taking over. Updating an item the destination already had and Content Uploader did not publish, such as a WooCommerce product with the same SKU. Its first review lists only what differs from what the destination holds (update products already on your shop).
Team member. A person invited to a workspace who can use only the sites an owner gave them (team members).
Template. Text with {{ Column }} placeholders that builds a field's value from several columns (templates).
U#
Unchanged. A row whose item already is as the file says; nothing is sent and nothing is counted.
V#
Variation. One of the choices of a variable product on a WooCommerce shop, such as a shirt's size, with its own SKU, price and stock. Variations are found by their SKU, and made under a variable product that exists (variable products, update the variations).
Value mode. How a field gets its value: source column, fixed value, template, destination default, keep existing, remove (value modes).
Version. Each save of a configuration's mapping makes a new version; every file is checked with one (versions).
W#
Workspace. The space that holds your sites, configurations, uploads, plan and people (workspaces).
