What every site needs#

  • The site must be reachable from the internet by Content Uploader, without a password, a maintenance page or an IP allow-list in front of it, and without a redirect on the address you enter.
  • The site must be able to make outgoing HTTPS requests: images are fetched by your site from Content Uploader's storage.
  • The connecting account decides what is offered: content types, fields, statuses and image slots all depend on that account's permissions.

Not supported#

  • WordPress multisite networks; Joomla 4 and older; Joomla on PostgreSQL.
  • Content other than posts, pages, custom post types and articles: for example menus, contacts, web links, comments or users. Values that an item stores as post meta (WordPress) or as Joomla custom fields can be filled as custom fields.
  • Sites on a private address or behind HTTP authentication.

Side by side#

For what differs in fields, categories, statuses and behaviour, see WordPress and Joomla compared. Which versions of the connectors exist, and how to update them, is in update the WordPress plugin and update the Joomla connector.
